  • 'Winnie The Pooh', 'Cars 2' - 39th Annie Awards 2/4/2012

    Walt Disney Animation Studios ''Winnie The Pooh' received 8 nominations including Best Direction for an Animated Feature (Stephen Anderson and Don Hall), Writing in Feature Production and Character Animation in a Feature Production (Andreas Deja and Mark Henn). 'The Ballad of Nessie' was nominated for Best Animated Short Subject.

    Pixar Animation Studios 'Cars 2' is up for 7 awards including Best Animated Feature. Both films received nominations in the categories of Production Design in Feature Production and Storyboarding in a Feature Production. 'La Luna' from Director Enrico Cassarosa was nominated for Best Animated Short Subject.

    WDAS' 'Prep & Landing: Naughty vs: Nice' was gifted with 9 nominations including Best Direction, Writing, Character Design, Storyboarding and Music in a Television Production (Grace Potter and Michael Giacchino).

    Touchstone Pictures''Gnomeo and Juliet' fetched 4 nominations including Best Direction.

    Best Animated Television Production - Preschool nominees 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' and 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates' from Disney Television Animation.

    The Annie Awards will be presented at UCLA Royce Hall in Westwood, CA on February 4, 2012.

      There were ten nominees for Best Animated Feature. Winnie the Pooh managed to miss that list; how that happened is beyond me. Very weird.

        Well last year Disney/Pixar boycotted the awards citing unhappiness with the ASifa-Hollywood organization and it's voting procedures. Both have been had major changes so this summer the studio rejoined the awards process and submitted their films for consideration.

        But I'd still expect to see 'Kung Fu Panda 2' and it's director to win...

          Jennifer Yuh Nelson is named Best Director for 'Kung Fu Panda 2' and 'Rango' wins Best Animated Feature.

          Walt Disney Animation Studio's 'Winnie the Pooh' and 'Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice' are winners, as well as 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates' from Walt Dsisney Television Animation.

          Best Animated Short Subject was won by WDAS' Minkyu Lee for 'Adam and Dog'.
