  • [Fun] Very funny Mary Poppins parody

    You have to see this.

Kristen Bell, who did Anna's voice in "Frozen", not to mention "Veronica Mars" and "Heroes", does a dead-on Mary Poppins, in this political spoof video about raising the minimum wage.

[ Warning!: One off-color word at the very end.]

Mary Poppins sings about her regressive payroll taxes leaving her with little take home pay, and her answer is to increase the minimum wage instead of modifying the tax code?

No, I didn't think this was funny, and I really wish entertainers would keep their politics to themselves.

It's cute but I like when they twist the song into something recognizable but noticeably different, rather than reword the original song. Yes, this is done mostly to avoid rights issues (and payments) but I think it makes the parody funnier.

Maybe, but not me. Maybe you're sensing the Ghost of Walt Disney, who most certainly would not have been pleased seeing Mary Poppins embrace regressive tax policies while advocating for taking more money from the private sector. Walt wasn't really big on socialism.

Why do I feel like Kristen Bell won't be returning for Frozen 2?

Like bigcatrik said,"I like when they twist the song into something recognizable but noticeably different", couldn't agree with you more! Kristen did a great job! And the kids were great matches, especially for a parody! I especially like the twist on supercalafrajalisticexpealodoucious, is that how you spell it, I don't know I tried.
Anyway, thank you Fred for giving us a laugh!
